A band from Yorkshire with guitar, keyboards, drums, trumpet, trombones and superb vocals. Hope & Social produce a big sound, inspired, anthemic and great. They are Simon Wainwright, Simon Fletcher, James Hamilton, Richard Huxley, Gary Stewart, Ed Waring and Tom L’Anson.
Eight years, five albums, hundreds of concerts, numerous festivals – the band were chosen to play at Grande Depart, Tour De France in 2015 travelling through Yorkshire to play five concerts in a day. They have played Glastonbury and Leeds Arena and this summer headline the Moonbeams Festival.
Hope & Social do things that every band does, but then so much more. A people’s band at heart they like to involve their audiences in as many ways as possible, from singing on records, appearing in videos and making shows life affirming experiences. With their energetic, joyful, dance along music and impeccable showmanship, Hope & Social create an unmissable experience. They are described as ‘one of the UK’s top live bands, by The Independent.
Support comes from KATIE SPENCER from Hull, who has been making quite a name for herself in 2017. Katie is a progressive folk/ blues singer/ songwriter and guitarist, drawing on influences such as John Martyn, Roy Harper and Laura Marling. She creates music which owes as much to the East Riding as it does to the American greats, with her warm honey like vocals and adept song writing backed by complex, evocative and reverb laden guitar playing.
