ELLES BAILEY, FRIDAY 1ST JUNE 2018
ELLES BAILEY , FRIDAY 1ST JUNE, 2018
‘Elles Bailey and her band play music that crosses genres, blending roots sounds with blues and soul. Very few artists make the big stage, but Elles has the necessary talent, the drive and now the product’ – Blues in Britain.
Bristol based Elles Bailey has a talent for crafting and seamlessly weaving roots, blues and soulful rock, with a contemporary edge. Fate has blessed the 28 year old, from Bristol, with a smoky vocal style that perfectly suits her music. At the tender age of three, she contracted both viral and bacterial pneumonia. She recovered, but her voice changed completely. An ENT visit revealed no permanent damage, but as the specialist observed ‘If ever she wants to sing, she will be a natural blues vocalist’.
After releasing two EP’s in 2016, she released her debut album, ‘Wildfire’ in September 2017. The album attracted five star reviews across the UK Music press, and the lead single from it was supported by BBC Radio 2. The album was voted the No. 1 Blues album across Europe.
Elles recorded the album at the world famous Blackbird studios in Nashville with top producer Brad Nowell. The album features some of Nashville top musicians and was ‘blended’ back in the UK with the likes of Johnny Henderson on Hammond Organ and Joe Wilkins on lead guitar. The result is a unique trans-Atlantic coming together of styles. It is a top album.
During October and November 2017, Elles and her band played a 22 headline tour of the UK and Ireland. The band, including Joe Wilkins on guitar, Zak Raymond on bass and Tom Gilkes on drums, gained rave reviews from all of the places they played with their hi-octane performances with Elles trademark husky voice providing the lead.
Elles Bailey is destined to be a star, don’t miss her when she comes to Kirton.
