JENN BOSTIC FRIDAY 20TH MARCH 2020
We feel extremely privileged that Jenn Bostic has asked to play Town Hall Live as part of her 2020 UK Tour. Jenn has played Kirton on two previous occasions. Both have been ‘Songs in the Round’ style concerts, with Sarah Darling and Kyshona Armstrong in 2016 and Sarah and Michael Logen in 2017. Now she is back and likely to be accompanied by two other musicians, with special guest Laura Evans playing the support slot.
Jenn grew up in Waconia, Minnesota but now lives in Nashville. She is a soulful singer songwriter with a hint of blues, soul, country, pop and gospel. Her emotive song writing and powerful vocals have been touching hearts around the world over the last eight years. Her best known song ‘Jealous of the Angels’, written for her late father. who died in a car crash when Jenn was just 10 years old was championed first by Simon Bates on Smooth Radio and then by Terry Wogan on BBC Radio 2. She has performed the song across shows on radio and television and the music video has over 3.5 million plays of You Tube.
In 2012 Jenn won five Independent Country Music Association awards, including ‘Best Song Writer’, ‘Best Musician’ and ‘Overall Winner’. She was also named as ‘International Touring Artist of the Year’ in both 2017 and 2018 at the British CMA Awards and co-hosted the Awards Ceremony in 2018.
She has performed sold out tours across America and Europe, playing venues such as The Grand Olde Opry, The Ryman Auditorium, the Lincoln Centre in New York and Bush Hall in London. Now she is back in little old Kirton to play for us!
Jenn has recorded four full length albums. The second ‘Jealous’ contained ‘Jealous of the Angels’. In 2015 she released ‘Faithful’ and the album debuted with a performance of ‘Little Grace’ on BBC’s Songs of Praise. In 2018 she released her latest album ‘Revival’ which contains songs that cover the whole range of genres mentioned above.
Her latest project ‘Take My Hand Part 1’ was recorded with Grammy Winner and hit song writer Lauren Christy. It was released in November 2019.
As mentioned above Laura Evans will support. Laura is from Wales and has been singing since she was 5 years old. She frequently travels to Nashville to write and perform and recently played at the Bluebird Café. She is currently recording a new album that is due for release in Summer, 2020. She also acts and recently filmed the lead role of a young Tammy Wynette in a biopic about the star’s life.
