Food Aid

Food Aid

The Food Aid project began with a meeting of local people back in 2020 who wanted to start a food aid project.  Both local Coops offered to have collecting bins in store so that donations could be made and we also received some donations from an organisation called FareShare.

The aim of the project is to provide a week’s groceries for people (and their families) who are in crisis.  Help is generally restricted to 3 visits in order to give the beneficiaries a little breathing space whilst they address their financial issues on a more permanent basis (waiting for a first benefit payment, starting a new job etc.)

If you need help, or know someone who does,
please call or text ‘HELP’ to 07396 738436
and someone will be in touch within 24 hours.

Ways you can support the scheme

  • Please donate products at the collecting points around the town.  Tinned meat, potatoes and vegetables are always needed, but anything you donate will be used.
  • If you would prefer to donate cash, this can be left at the Town Hall (clearly marked for Food Aid) or you can use the Paypal donation link below.

  • In many case we can claim Gift Aid on your donation, so please download and return this form to us at the Town Hall.  If you require help or further details then please contact Julia by email:  finance@kirtoninlindseytownhall.co.uk
